Class and seminar schedule

There are many types of homebuyer seminars. While they all serve various needs, only those that meet the educational requirements are listed on this site. These seminars are offered by a wide range of providers. Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association lists these seminars as a public service and believe they meet the current requirements for homebuyer counseling and/or education certification.

Alliance Credit Counseling Homebuyer Education
This is a two part program that consist of a 7-hour class and at least one, 1-hour one-on-one counseling session. Students will receive a certification at the end of the program from Alliance Credit Counseling (a HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agency). Pre-registration is required; call 1.866.303.3328 or e-mail homeownership@knowdebt.org for a class schedule.

CHDC-Mooresville/South Iredell Class
This is an eight-hour financial literacy class that offers a comprehensive overview of the process of qualifying for a mortgage, having the ability to pay for the mortgage, foreclosure prevention and having discretionary funds for everyday household expenditures and pleasures. Student will receive a certification at the end of the class from Community Housing Development Corporation (a HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agency). You can present this certification to your lender in any state. Classes are held throughout the year. Latin American Coalition's Homeownership Class
In this FREE homeownership education class, you will learn about: the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a homeowner, pre-purchase information (credit, budgeting, fair lending, mortgages and financial assistance, etc.), the process of purchasing a home and working with a RealtorĀ®, how to keep your home for years to come, and how to avoid foreclosure. Students will receive a certificate the following week of class. Registration is encouraged. Contact Ana Barba at 704-941-2559 for class dates and more information.
